BIOGRAPHY
Nesar Ahmed Khan is a Ph.D. student in the Disaster Science and Management program. He
completed his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the Institute of Disaster Management and
Vulnerability Studies, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His research interests include disaster
resilience, risk perception, emergency decision-making behavior, and policies related to
disaster management. During his bachelor’s and master’s, he worked on several publicly funded
research projects on disaster and disability, flood volunteerism, and climate change. These
opportunities allowed him to work and collaborate closely with government and non-profit
organization officials as well as community members who are vulnerable to disasters. He has
also presented his research findings at national conferences and published articles in peerreviewed
journals. Nesar is passionate about his work and aims to contribute to the field of
disaster science and management through his research and practical experiences.
