Engaged Attendees and
Future-Oriented Discussions

DRC 60th Anniversary Photo Gallery

Activities include a day-long graduate student workshop, bringing together students from across the country and around the world to learn about quick response disaster research, receive media training from a seasoned NBC reporter, and engage in collaborative work to consider the big ideas necessary for future research and action. The E.L. Quarantelli Collection exhibited items in its collection, sharing how critical preservation work is underway. From featured presentations to panel discussions, from special panel to poster presentations, from hands-on activities to film screenings, the weekend sparked new ideas for attendees.

Picture of DRC students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars

Although we were unable to find all of our current and former DRC students, staff, faculty, and visiting scholars for the picture, we are grateful for the opportunity to bring so many together for this special anniversary event.

Over 175 people participated in the graduate student workshop and main workshop, with hundreds more joining us in person for the fireside chat and evening reception. Additional special events included a morning kick-starter run, a celebratory dinner at a local brewery, and a day-long trip to the Delaware Beaches to learn about coastal impacts and resilience affecting the Delaware shores.

Check out some of the wonderful photos from the DRC 60th anniversary workshop. We are also collecting photos taken by workshop participants, both for posting as well as to archive for the historical record of the Center. Please consider sharing your photos by emailing us at drc-60th-workshop@udel.edu, giving us permission to share them through our communications and archive them at the E.L. Quarantelli Collection.
